Description

In 1959 the M1 motorway opened in Britain. It heralded the exciting prospect of travelling across the country with ease and a new age of modernism dawned. The M1 is a perfect example of good design and engineering, Sir Owen Williams designed the road system and Jock Kinneir and Margaret Calvert designed the motorway road sign system and typefaces Transport and Motorway. This bridge is located on Junction 37 and is one of my favourite bridges on the whole of the M1, personally it also is the turn off when driving home.
